Let’s chat: active ingredients and how you can power-up your skincare routine.

A Guide to Pairing Active Ingredients. Skincare Serums

Like Bonnie & Clyde, Minnie and Mickey, and PB&J - some things just should go together. The same should be said about skincare, particularly the active ingredients in targeted treatments like serums. These are the scientifically backed, dermatologically tested ingredients that we as serum specialists carve out to make sure that our products are simple, pure and potent - but most of all, actually work.

Now, in a market where active ingredients can outdo the list of skin concerns they’re used to treat, it can be tricky to know where to start or what ingredients work together to remedy a skin concern, and what ones look out for.

Here, we share just two of our favourite pairs that support and supercharge your skincare regime:

The Pair: Retinol (Vitamin A) + Argireline

While each are cult-status ingredients in their own right, used together, they deliver a symbol of youth, acting as a wonderful age-defying duo as they work to improve the firmness and elasticity of skin, plump fine lines, wrinkles in the same way expensive injectables do and improve hyperpigmentation.

What is Retinol?

Also known as Vitamin A, this ingredient works to minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, dark spots and acne by improving the firmness and elasticity of the skin through skin cell turnover. It’s also the hero in our Night Renewal Serum  which doubles as an overnight skin hydration formula.

What Is Argireline?

Lesser known, but highly sought after, Argireline, found in our Anti-Ageing Serum is a peptide that is clinically proven to stimulate and improve the appearance of skin folds,  reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the same way that expensive injectables do.

BOOSTER TIP:  Shop the Ultimate Anti-Ageing Power Pack and use these two ingredients with the added bonus of our best seller: Bio-Active Eye Reset Serum, a targeted eye treatment that re-energies skin and revitalises tired looking eyes.

The Pair: Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C

The ultimate plumping and brightening pair that deeply hydrates, protects and repairs the skin barrier while fighting the signs of accelerated ageing, especially for those with dry and sensitive skin.

Vitamin C

What Is Vitamin C?

The ultimate skin brightening ingredient, rich in antioxidants works to neutralise hyperpigmentation, even skin tone,  and lessens dark spots, revealing a revitalised complexion while stimulating the skin's natural production of collagen for healthier looking skin. Find it in our Brightening Serum.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Arguably the buzziest ingredient of 2021, but with good reason. Hyaluronic Acid is one of the gold standard ingredients to nourish, hydratite and moisturise skin. Our bodies naturally produce HA, but as we get older, sadly its production lessens which is why this ingredient works wonders when it comes to those in need of an extra boost. Our award-winning Hydro Boost formula contains two types of Hyaluronic Acid, for two levels of moisturisation. Deeply penetrating for fast, effective hydration.

BOOSTER TIP: Power up your existing regime and add our Hydrate and Glow Power Pack (RRP $59.95) as you start your day, and again before your night shift to see plumper, brighter and healthier looking skin in as little as seven days.
